Post with mixed competence (bilateral and multilateral), the Embassy of Benin in Brussels is one of the most important diplomatic missions of Benin abroad.

Bilaterally , its jurisdiction covers the Kingdom of  Belgium (host country), the Kingdom of  the Netherlands and the Grand Duchy of  Luxembourg . These countries, notably Belgium and the Netherlands, are among Benin’s most important bilateral development partners.

At the multilateral level , the Embassy acts as the Permanent Mission of Benin to the European Union , the first economic and financial partner of Benin.
