The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania in France was created by Decree No. 61082 of April 18, 1962. The diplomatic district of the Embassy currently covers France, Portugal, the Principality of Monaco, the Principality of Andorra and the Holy See.
The main mission of the Embassy is the protection and promotion of the interests of the country and the strengthening of cooperation between Mauritania and the countries within the accreditation districts of the Embassy.
