The Barrick Africa & Middle East Team is seeking to recruit a Sourcing & Procurement Manager to join and grow their team.

You will be expected to align to the Barrick DNA and to operate within our mining assets with our best people teams. You will contribute in a safe and cost-effective manner to achieve targets in accordance with Mine Safety Standards, Policies and Procedures and ensure daily targets are met.

Responsibilities

• Analyse consolidated demand and determine procurement strategy by category / commodity
• Analyse industry trends and proactively identify supply base that will minimize risk and protect continuity of supply – Globally, East and West Africa
• Analyse commodity price trends and identify procurement savings opportunities
• Analyse procurement information and guide / direct partners where opportunities exist for improvement
• Evaluate supplier core competencies and competitive positioning and approve sources of supply together with partners based on material or category of supply
• Identify internal resources to assist with the evaluation of suppliers of a highly technical nature
• Develop a procurement and negotiation strategy together with partners for different categories of materials procured that will deliver sustainable relationships and achieve the business objectives
• Ensure that supplier contracts are implemented by the partners by working with cross functional stakeholders to reach agreement on contract terms and conditions
• Provide inputs for mine budgets regarding consumables and other items
• Direct / recommend appropriate sources and timing of procurement
• Provide procurement expertise to partners
• Ensure that suppliers are managed effectively so that the source of supply is not at risk, and that there is sufficient volume consolidation with suppliers to enable competitive terms
