Our diplomatic representation has been operational since December 2003 and our mission is, among others, to support all citizens of Benin residing in Spain and to make this wonderful and at the same time unknown African country known among Spanish citizens.

Benin, formerly called Dahomey, is a country full of charms, the cradle of the budoo and one of the most important gateways in West Africa for the departure of slaves to the new world for much of the 18th century.

In any case, Benin’s greatest asset, as often happens in Africa, are its people, cheerful and hospitable, always willing to share what little they have and to welcome travelers who want to delve into their customs and rituals.

Benin is also a very interesting and attractive country for business, the government offers great facilities to foreign investment and puts at their disposal infrastructures and services that make this country one of the most interesting when it comes to investing in West Africa. To all this we must add a great political stability, with a very consolidated democracy that dates back to the achievement of its Independence, on August 1, 1960.
