About Embassy of Tanzania Rome

The Embassy of the United Republic of Tanzania in Rome was officially opened in 1972 and since then, it has been active in conducting diplomatic relations with the Republic of Italy covering both the bilateral and multilateral activities. The bilateral cooperation includes political, economic, social and other activities.

The multilateral work involves United Nations specialized Agencies based in Rome which are The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO), The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) and The International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

The Embassy’s diplomatic scope of work also extends to ten other countries of accreditation which are Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Cyprus, Greece, North Macedonia, Malta, Montenegro, Serbia and Slovenia. The core function of the Embassy in these countries is to foster and promote vibrant bilateral relations for mutual benefits.

The Embassy also works to safeguard and protect the interests of Tanzanians living in all 11 countries of accreditation.
