About Nigeria Health Care Project
We are volunteers, working together as part of a Christian charity, to improve health care and training in Nigeria. The project was launched in 1992 in order to revive the links between the Wesley Guild UK and medical mission in Nigeria, which started at Ilesa Hospital, Ondo State in 1912.
We have kept our links with the Wesley Guild but now have a wider range of supporters, including many British Nigerians. We work in partnership with colleagues in Nigeria, mainly with Methodist Church Nigeria.
We currently support 11 centres. Since 2011 we have been training health workers in Nigeria and now support two training hubs – in Igede in Benue State in the Middle Belt and In Bende LGA, Abia State, in the South-East.
