About Nursing & Midwifery Training College - Twifo Praso
The institution was established in 2007 out of the dire need of personnel to assist with health care delivery in the country under the leadership of Mrs. Joyce Abakah-Quansah. Thus, the school established with the mandate to train middle-level cadres (Health Assistant Clinical), who will assist health care professionals to take care of the sick. Mrs. Joyce Abakah-Quansah after 9 years of service handed over to Mrs. Jemimah Fati Ackon whose services span from 2016 to 2019.
Today, the school has evolved into a model college with the capacity to meet the growing health needs of Ghanaians, with the expansion of some of its structures and the diversification of programmes. The National Accreditation Board has approved a three-year Interim Accreditation for the running of Diploma in Midwifery, Registered General Nursing and Registered Community Nursing. The Diploma in Registered Midwifery, Registered General Nursing and Registered Community Nursing which became operational in the year 2012, 2013 and 2014 respectively. All the above-mentioned programmes are affiliated to Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST). Currently, the institution has a Diploma programme in post NAP/NAC midwifery which is affiliated to University of Cape Coast.
