The Rocky Mountain Ghana Council comprises representatives of most of the Ghanaian associations and churches in the Denver metro area of Colorado

Denver, Colorado is home to an estimated minimum of 8,000 Ghanaians, most of whom contribute significantly to the state economy. Many Ghanaians in the Denver metro area work in the health industry as nurses, certified nurse aids and home caregivers. A small percentage are into the taxi and shuttle business, retail shops, arts, security, postal services, education and corporations. The strong presence of Ghanaians in Denver is also marked by the existence of about eight Ghanaian churches. We are one big happy family, growing by the day

Each of the member associations is represented by three voting members. The council is a non-profit entity and primarily provides for the welfare of the Ghanaian community. RMGC also serves as the mouth piece of the Ghanaian community. We are governed by a five-member executive and an evolving constitution with a strong emphasis on welfare.

On the first Saturday of every July the council hosts a Ghana Day, at which Ghanaians in the Rocky Mountain region of the US celebrate Ghana’s republic. At this event Ghanaians exibit their varied and rich cultures with food, dance, fashion, music, and traditions. This gathering takes place at the southwest corner of the Delmar Park (6th Ave. & Peoria) and all member associations are represented. These associations include:
