At 5 Sisters Restaurant, we proudly serve the flavors of our African roots every day. For generations, our family has passed down recipes both time honored and unique, and it’s a dream come true to be able to cook them from scratch for the amazing Laurel community. And since we believe that life’s special moments should be celebrated over incredible meals, we offer in-house and off-site catering for all occasions, from birthdays to weddings. We welcome you and your family to share in our traditions and connect with one another while enjoying the dishes that mean the most to us.

History
Established in 2015.

Blanche Mbeng and her sisters grew up learning a new family recipe every day. By the time they were adults, they loved cooking and serving traditional African cuisine so much, they decided to serve it to all of Maryland, and 5 Sisters Restaurant was born. Their menu boasts a wide variety of African favorites, including spicy goat, suya, and freshly grilled fish. Plus, their brand-new bar means every dish can be complemented by a cold wine, beer, or champagne. Their spacious restaurant is the perfect place to throw your next event, or if you’d rather have them come to you, they offer full-service catering.

Blanche grew up not only crafting delicious meals but also putting on festive events and setting up beautiful dining tables. She loves coming to work every day and seeing the joy on her customer’s faces when they taste their delicious dishes. She’s so proud of what she and her sisters have created and she can’t wait to welcome you in to try a taste.
