At the heart of Ave Maria ethos lies a very genuine concern for the happiness and success of every child entrusted into our care. Ave Maria is almost unique in its history as a nursery school which was established by Mrs. Mary Ama Kyem Antwi of blessed memory, from a garage with just three (3) children in 1982.

Ave Maria is a co-educational day and boarding school set in attractive spacious grounds off the Sakaman Road, Dansoman-Accra. It provides an environment in which happy, healthy children may grow and develop both academically and socially. Ave Maria School caters for children between ages of six (6) months and 15 years.

We pride ourselves that whilst being large enough to be able to offer excellent and constantly improving facilities, we are small enough to ensure that we know each of our pupils individually and this produces the secure and trusting environment which is vital for a child’s development.

At Ave Maria we believe in the importance of the individual, and aim to develop the whole child. We place great emphasis upon discovering and nurturing the special talents of each pupil. Thus we provide a comprehensive range of opportunities which allow every boy and girl to find some area in which he or she will shine. Success in any endeavor raises confidence and self-esteem and this in turn leads to success in other areas.

Underpinning all that we do is the Catholic ethos of the school which emphasizes the value and sanctity of the individual and the importance of the community above self. This ensures that we produce young people who have a strong sense of right and wrong and the courage to follow their convictions.

There is a strong P.T.A, this parent and teacher association forms a valuable link between parents and the school and provides an opportunity to discuss matters of mutual interest.
The School is academically selective and reigns among the best in Accra and the country as a whole.

For a good education, Ave Maria imparts knowledge and skills in the context of a sound sense of values. We are all here to learn, we are all part of this educational community, not just the children.
