Eethuis Lalibela is the oldest Ethiopian restaurant in the Netherlands.

It is named after the town of Lalibela, located in the northern province of Wollo.

In turn, this city owes its name to King Lalibela who lived at the beginning of the thirteenth century. He left us the famous rock churches that have been called the eighth wonder of the world: they are not built, but each of the eleven churches in this complex is completely carved out of the rock. The largest part of the complex is therefore underground.
